Resistance

Using my hobby skills as a jewelry designer, I enlisted my friend to fold almost a thousand Washi Origami Cranes and using coordinating colored beads, I created origami crane earrings. I called this campaign “Cranes for Peace” and partnered with four Greater Seattle art museums. We raised $3,000 and donated this to Stop AAPI Hate. The constant violence against AAPI especially the elderly was frightening across the USA. A local Japanese language high school teacher was assaulted by a man with a stone in a sock in Chinatown that broke her eye socket and nose triggered me to start this campaign. I put out press releases for this campaign and was able to obtain 2 Seattle TV news stations and the Evening Magazine show to do videos of the campaign. I also do Social media postings of this campaign and my Asian-themed jewelry called the Great Wall collection (currently carried in a museum).
