Celebration

Growing up, my family’s love language evolved around food. Rather than, “I love you,” my parents and grandparents told me they loved me when they asked, “Con ăn chưa?” or Have you eaten yet? Whether or not you were hungry, they prepared a healthy serving bowl. My fondest memories are my grandma’s and dad’s home-cooked pho, bun rieu, and thit kho trung. No restaurant has been able to compare to their flavors. Today, with my own daughter, I find myself feeding her often to show how much I love her.
